"A Wrap"

May 2nd, 2006

As the conclusion of the term draws near, I finally get to see stuff being done. Including, but not limited to, the T.f.H Chat System. There are still a bug or two to fix - and installation notes and stuff - but the presentation was made today.

As being a University project, of course there ar hoops that students have to jump through. Today was our presentation, a 20 minute thing with powerpoint slides. The presentation itself was pretty good, but one really nice thing it that a guy who knows his databases was in the audience. This meant a good Q&A session - which shows I/we knew what we were talking about.

Next tuesday is the date for the Live Demo and report. I would post it here for public testing, but for the fact it was written in PHP5 and MySQL5 - I have some backporting to do before a general public release.

Sure would be nice if I could find a compatibility layer between PHP5’s and PHP4’s DOM functionality. Even with that, the current SQL query for messages is … large … and on top of a view. That will be some work.
